Suicide and Bullying – We Can Help

If you are raising or love children, please take a few moments to watch this video (https://bit.ly/361BUuY). Bullying and suicide are major issues that young people face nowadays. We invite you to join us in doing what we can to prevent both things.

A great start is going to church. Here’s what a *2018 study from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health found, “While decisions about religion are not shaped principally by health, for adolescents who already hold religious beliefs, encouraging service attendance and private practices may be meaningful avenues to protect against some of the dangers of adolescence, including depression, substance abuse, and risk taking. In addition, these practices may positively contribute to happiness, volunteering, a greater sense of mission and purpose, and to forgiveness.” Tyler VanderWeele, Senior Author of the Study

For children and teens we have: two youth groups that cover all school ages, special events throughout the year, a Vacation Bible School for children of all ages, volunteer opportunities, and so much more. At APC your children have many opportunities to be involved in Spiritual things and to make friends who share Spiritual beliefs – both of these things are of priceless, immeasurable worth. They say it takes a village to raise a child; we have a wonderful, welcoming one and would love for your entire family to be a part of it!

Above all, if you believe that your child is or may be depressed, bullied, or is possibly suicidal, we ask you to please find the help needed to heal. If you’re not sure where to turn for help, call 211 for United Way of Pennsylvania’s free helpline. An operator there will connect you with helpful resources in your community. More information about 211 is shared at this link https://www.uwp.org/programs/2-1-1/.

We welcome you and yours to Adamsville Presbyterian Church. We are here for you! And please, be kind to one another and teach your children to do the same.
