Last Sunday some APC children sang the Hymn God is So Good for us. It was beautiful – such a wonderful reminder that God truly is so good to us!
Did you know, that according to the *Mayo Clinic, prayer is the best known and most widely practiced example of meditation? As you have probably heard in recent years, meditation has tremendous health benefits for all ages!
As parents, we are in the best position to give our children these health benefits by teaching them to practice meditation until it becomes a part of their lives. As Christian parents, this includes teaching our children to pray.
Here is a beautiful, easy-to-memorize bedtime prayer to teach your children from a hymn titled Father, We Thank Thee for the Night:
Father, we thank Thee for the night,
And for the pleasant morning light;
For rest and for food and loving care,
And all that makes the day so fair.
Help us to do the things we should,
To be to others kind and good;
In all we do in work or play,
To grow more loving everyday.
For Christian parents who enjoy crafting, this prayer could be made into a beautiful piece of wall art to hang in your child’s room.

Hello! We have had a beautifully busy winter here at Adamsville Presbyterian Church! Several things have happened and are scheduled to happen, all of which edify us and cause our amazing church family to grow stronger and closer – collectively, personally, and with our marvelous Creator!
On December 08, 2019 we welcomed six new members to our congregation! These young people took a Communicants Class for several weeks with our beloved Reverend Johns prior to joining. This has been a wonderful, life-enriching, and life-changing experience for each new member and a real blessing to our church! We are thrilled to have them join us!
On January 25, 2020 we had our first-of-two annual pancake breakfasts! We had a great turn-out! The money raised from both breakfasts goes toward keeping our historic, landmark building in great shape. Thank you so much to everyone who participated! Our next one is on February 29th; more information about that can be found below!
On January 26, 2020 we installed several new APC Trustees and Elders. We welcome these new officers and look very forward to them bringing, and using, the gifts that God has blessed them with to our church!
On February 02, 2020 we welcomed home our beloved member Leigha, who graduated U.S. Marine Corps Basic Training two days before! It sure was wonderful to enjoy her company during our monthly Coffee Hour and Service and to hear her lovely voice singing in our choir! Below is a pic of her on her trip home from Basic, enjoying a civilian meal with her best friend and brother, Zeke, who also serves our great nation!
We have an active Quilters Club here at APC! It meets on the first and third Monday of each month in our Social Hall at 9:00 a.m. All skill levels are wholeheartedly welcome to join in! The next meeting is on February 17, 2020.
Can you believe that it’s already time for us to start putting together this year’s APC Vacation Bible School? We will be making our final decision as to our theme, and then officially getting the ball rolling on it, this coming Sunday afternoon, February 09th. We are very excited about this! VBS is a wonderful, enriching experience for children and staff!
We will soon announce the theme and more information about it on our Facebook page and our website.
We welcome you and yours to join us on February 26, 2020 for our Ash Wednesday Service. Along with the Service, we will be having Communion and a covered dish dinner. If you’d like to learn more about Ash Wednesday, here’s a link https://bit.ly/31zBhYF. We hope to see you there!
Our APC women’s group, called the Velma Hayes Circle, meets on the first Thursday of each month at 1:00 p.m. in our Social Hall. If you are a woman who would like to deepen your faith, enjoy the fellowship of other Christian women, and participate in charitable works, this group is for you! The next meeting is on March 05, 2020. You are very welcome to show up and join right in!
For those of you who would like, or feel led, to financially donate to our church, you can now do so online! We are participants in the Presbyterian Foundation’s online giving portal called GivePlus, so you can easily donate to APC at this link https://bit.ly/377kkWX. There’s also a GivePlus app – here’s the link to a video with more information about it https://youtu.be/PAjqUxK8YRk.
Financial contributions to Adamsville Presbyterian Church keep us active and alive in our community! We offer many things, and do many things, for the good of not only our members, but fellow mankind. That’s why we’re here, and thanks to the generous contributions of those who support us, we are thriving! We hope to continue to do what we do and even more!
As always, all are welcome here at Adamsville Presbyterian Church! *Sunday School for adults and children begins at 10:00 a.m. with our Weekly Service following at 11:00 a.m. *Note: On the first Sunday of each month, we enjoy a light breakfast together and fellowship at 10:00 a.m. instead of having Sunday School. We hope to see you soon!
